Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My mother gifted us with an ice-cream/sorbet/yoghurt maker for Christmas

I've made one ice-cream recipe thus far, does anyone have any favourite recipes to share?

And I'm searching for yoghurt recipes and finding nothing for making it with a machine. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I saw a yogurt machine at a store the other day, and was wondering if it was worth the price. I'll be watching this thread, Erin!

i use one basic vanilla ice cream recipe which i vary in fat content (just play around with cream-milk combos) and then i just add pureed fruit or anything i want to add to flavor it. (try melted dark chocolate, or caramel, or things like bacon and black pepper if you're feeling adventurous)

peach ice cream -- make the ice cream but leave out the peach and you have vanilla ice cream. you can also sub vanilla beans instead of extract.

one summer i made an ancho chile-strawberry-peach ice cream (scroll down for the recipe) that was soooo good, and pretty!!

Well it turns out that the yoghurt maker is for frozen yoghurt Not sure how I missed that.

However investigating how to make yoghurt from scratch and finding it all looking so complicated, I found an easy way, making yoghurt in a slow cooker So I'm off to buy a thermometer today and going to give it a go.

Erin, I was trying to come back here and ask if it was for frozen yogurt! I've seen easy ways to make yogurt, so I'm happy you're going to try it. If I can do it, anyone can!
