I am currently shopping for my Christmas presents I want a new tea kettle. I don't want one with some kind of coating on the inside. I am thinking I probably want one that is stainless steel on the inside. Does that sound right? Any suggestions (either stainless or not)? Thanks!
Beth

Have to say - we got an electric tea kettle last year for Christmas (well my husband did ) and we LOVE it! I wouldn't go back to stove top now. It's so quick and easy.
It sounds like you are looking for stove top, so didn't mean to hijack, but wanted to give a plug for an alternative.

I like stainless steel with a whistle (so it's not forgotten but one that can be opened or taken off if you want to keep the water simmering for a bit) and a lid that comes off and is big enough to reach my hand inside to clean.

We have this electric kettle and love it. It has a nice big opening for occasional cleaning and a removable base so you can walk around with just the kettle. Plus, I think it's purty.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am really looking for a stove top one. My counter is just too cluttered as it is

Did you find one yet? I have an old stove top Stainless Steel kettle, the bottom says "Calidad Professional" which is just pure stainless, no coatings. In my searches I could only find it used. But I did find
Kitchen Aid which looks very similar, or this 3 quart one.
And This About.com review of different tea kettles.

Williams-Sonoma has a few choices, plus they are running a sale right now (who isn't).
