Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I could have sworn (well, not really, but you know) that I first 'heard' Susan Sargent's name here but a search of the archives turned up nothing. I ran across one of her books at the library months ago and was immediately turned off by the abundance of color. I was quickly flipping through the book, not really *looking.* I love lots of color in small doses. I love Mary Engelbreit's stuff and Jan Brett books...but something about this book was overwhelming. Well it's funny how our tastes change. I stumbled upon the book again a couple of weeks ago and really looked. I love it! Then searching for more Susan Sargent pics online last week I stumbled across Be Colorful. What a delight to the eyes!! I am now looking at COLOR as a way to fill the heart and home with the feminine. I hope to re-cover the black vinyl seats on our dining room chairs in a vinyl that is brighter (refuse to use a real fabric. I am, after all, surrounded by boys who eat at that table several times a day...). I want to paint some of our old wood and metal furniture in something bright. Adding a colorful lamp or art would be easy. I'd looove to repaint the living room walls and reupholster the living furniture, but those projects are big plus I lack the skill set needed to re-upholster. I'm excited the the *thought* of all of this. I hope I follow through!
