Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just found this idea for a knitted advent wreath.

I think it's a pretty cool idea.

Does anyone have any other good knitting ideas for Advent?

Thanks for this link, Betsy.
I mentioned in a comment that my only doubt is melted wax and then it would more or less have to be tossed after 1 Christmas.
But, it looks so easy, that even our daughters could make smaller versions and decorate them as gifts for Godparents, Grandparents... I guess we don't have to burn 4 candles on them ... or do you find my doubts unfounded?

Neat idea! Two thoughts; What about using the new flame less candles? You could put them in colored holders to make them pink and purple? Or making knit candles to use the whole thing as a child's set, maybe with flames that you can take on and off?

Isa responded to my comment and suggested the little plate like candle holders under each candle.

like these

I think that I would stick to using such a wreath as pure decoration without flames!

Stephanie,
I think you brought up a really good point! I don't think I would use really candles either.

I still like the looks of what she did, but maybe it would be more appropriate as a hanging wreath?
