Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm wondering if any of you have recipes for natural, homemade cleaning products that DON'T use distilled white vinegar. I've developed a corn allergy and white vinegar makes me wheeze. Would tea tree oil work as a sort of substitute?

I think tea tree oil is great for lots of things -- supposedly it's a good mold killer (I say "supposedly" because I've never tried it, not because I doubt that it is). I don't know about leaving a residue, though. That's one thing I love about vinegar: that you can clean anything with it and it leaves no residue of any kind.

Can you try other vinegars? Apple cider vinegar works just as well as white, in my experience.

Just read the label on the apple cider vinegar and make sure it's apple cider vinegar not apple cider FLAVORED vinegar.

And I've heard good things about using GSE (grapefruit seed extract) you use it greatly diluted for cleaning so it can last a long time.

Well the Shaklee basic H wouldn't exactly be homemade, but it is highly concentrated that you just add a few drops to a bottle of water...

I hope you find a good solution!

White vinegar is made from corn? I am so leery of corn right now because of GMOs. sigh.

Wellness Mama has lots of ideas. I mostly use enjo cloths or bi-carb soda. Rarely use anything else. Oh what about using a lemon instead of vinegar?

Plain baking soda for scrubbing, straight hydrogen peroxide for disinfecting (just make sure you keep itin an opaque bottle, because light breaks it down).
