Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am reading Confessions of a Happily Organized Family and the author had a fun game she talked about to get kids excited about cleaning. You take ping pong balls and write different chores on them. You set a timer and each kids gets to take a ball, do the job and get another ball.

Our house is a complete disaster right now since I have been sick with the flu and a head cold for two weeks. I haven't even gone in the playroom. So...I thought this was the perfect time to start this game. The kids LOVED it. I set the timer for 20 minutes and they cleaned for over an hour. Since they did such a good job, we are having family game night tonight and the winner gets to pick the games.

This game would work great for large families. I know these kind of things lose their excitement factor after awhile, but I am really excited about this one!!!!

I haven't done that particular game, but I used to make a game out of cleaning up when ours were younger. (Youngest is now 11). I would play some upbeat music and then say, everyone pick up 10 things and put them away! Hurry! They would scramble to do that, then we'd do 10 more. A handful of Legos or other small items would count as one thing. Soon the room was all picked up.
