Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I really enjoy reading the posts at Like Mother Like Daughter . Her (or I guess it's their) thoughts on housekeeping are always helpful for me, since I grew up without learning a lot of the ins and outs of keeping house. I've gleaned some things from my mil (like filling the sink with soapy water before you start cooking - genious!) but I always enjoy learning more. Any other good housekeeping blogs out there?

Large Family Logistics

ETABearing Blog I like this post, and she has some other interesting posts (although not exclusively a homekeeping blog).

Becky
Are you wanting straight housekeeping ones? I've been pursing more home decorating ones lately, (if I went all white I'm sure my house would never stay that clean) so I could give a few of that type. They aren't Catholic though so don't have that extra dimension LMLD does.

Oh Lazy Moms housekeeping and tips have some great ideas.

Thanks Lara and Erin! I will bookmark these sites. I need all the inspiration I can get! Actually, the fact that I am looking for some on-line ideas means I AM inspired. Now I just need to put that inspiration to work!

Erin, I welcome Home Decor ideas as well - as long as I don't have to build an addition to use them .
I've been feeling lately that I need to do some sprucing up around here - cleaning yes, but just general beautify-ing as well. Maybe it's the winter "cabin fever" that has me feeling this way but I thought it would be a good idea to act while I'm inspired!

Lara, I thought it was interesting that you linked to the Baring Blog. I remember reading that post some time ago, but I don't normally read that blog. So I went to the main page and there is a post about "The Devout Life". I thought that was neat because I just started re-reading my copy of that book. It will be interesting to read the author's insights.

Becky, I'm finding that changing out just one or two things and reducing clutter in a room helps it feel *fresh* in the decorating.

for instance I have a high shelf in the living room with things up there.. and of course I had more during Christmas. I took down a pretty wood trivet/bowl my FIL made over Christmas.. and I decided to leave it down for a while.. it went into my buffet with the china. And put my "Believe" sign in it's place.. just that tiny change and it looks so nice and fresh without needing to do a lot.
