Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been doing so much shopping online this year and just had an idea. If we had a list on here of 4Real members that are Amazon Associates we could use those when we shop and help out our fellow hs'ing families. Since we can't use our own referral links, we might as well be helping out someone else, right?

I am going to be placing some more orders so feel free to post your associates link.

That's a nice idea!

amongwomen-20 is mine.

I can't figure out how to link to the general Amazon page with my code embedded, so here is a link to Karen Edmisten's book Through the Year With Mary. Now, I think if you click on this first, you don't have to buy this book, you can buy anything and the amazon associate's fee is given to me, correct? Then if you click on someone elses link/use someone elses code, you can buy something else and they get credit...I think.

Thanks, Stef. But how would I use someone else's affiliate info to get them credit for a purchase?

To be honest, I am not sure how to plug it in either. I'll try to figure it out. In the mean time, those who have a-stores can leave those links or indicate if you have a link on your blog side bar. We can go that route until I figure out how to do it the other way.

This is a great way to bless another homeschooling family just by doing what you would be doing anyway (ordering from Amz). We all know that every little bit helps.

Can people go through the links on the blogs? Like click on one of the books that is linked to that associate's account and then order other items?

Can we do that through our own blogs and get credit for our own purchases? Just wondering...

I'm an associate but I've never ordered through my blog. I'll try that and see what happens and let you know!

Okay, here's how to do it:

basic thing to do is

go to the product you want.

i just picked a random product from amazon -- rennet tabs. here's the regular link straight from amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KB9WL2/ref=s9_simh_gw_p 121_d3_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=12D 4YZVJJB9AZHFS62ND&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=5078 46

see that number after "product" and the forward slash?

B000KB9WL2

that's the product's ASIN number

you plug in that number into this formula:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN/?tag=your_Associates_ID

change "your_Associates_ID" to any of the associates' IDs here and go do your shopping.

if you scroll down on each product's page (about 1/5 of the way down) you will also see the part where it says "Product Details" and you'll see the ASIN there.

it will take a bit of work, to look for the product, look for the ASIN, plug in the ID, etc. so it may take a bit of getting used to.

Very good, stef! I'm going to try this with my own number. I order so much from amazon. I'd love to get credit for my purchases.

Hi Caroline. I don't think it works with your own number. That's why Ryane posted this; since we can't order using our own numbers, we can use others' instead.

I'd love it if I got credit for my purchases too -- we buy so much (too much?) from Amazon. I may be wrong, but I think Amazon actually considers ordering using your own number "illegal" accdg. to their policies.

Askville at Amazon

scroll down to #5:

5. As with all affiliate programs, you have to follow the terms of the affiliate agreement carefully, and make sure that the way you promote your affiliate links in accordance with the agreement. You may be kicked out of the program and lose whatever commission you earned. For example, a big no no is you cannot buy stuff from Amazon using your own affiliate links. Otherwise everyone could give themselves a secret discount simply by signing up for Amazon's affiliate program and then visiting Amazon.com from a link that they place on their own website.

I'm an Amazon Associate! I'd love it if someone would order through my blog--I've been an AA for several months now, but have never had enough clicks or orders to get paid for it.

My ID is mamrex-20 but you can just go through my blog and click the link on the sidebar.

Thanks a ton to anyone who orders through me!!

Thanks for clarifying this, Stef. Really, though, it would be nice if amazon would institute some kind of buyer's club or volume discounts .

My account is flowingstreams-20.
