Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge regarding the newer washable furnace filters? I purchased one, so far so good, but we haven't really had the furnace on very much yet. While I was buying the re-usable, washable filter, I also noticed scented add-ons to attach to the filter...I think I chose one called Ocean Breeze (at K-mart for $2.99. The filter was $14.99)). I love the clean fresh odor that fills the house whenever the furnace goes on (it even worked when our central air went on during warmer weather). Anyone know whether either of these products are safe or desirable to use?

Personally, I wouldn't use anything that has added chemical fragrance. I much prefer to make homemade air fresheners such as popourri on the stove. Oddly, I was just reading about homemade furnace filter sachets using cheesecloth or muslin cloth! Perhaps you can make your own with lavender buds or cinnamon sticks ... could be a fun experiment to see how well it works!

I recently bought some lavendar essence to make potpourri, and it says on the bottle that you can put a drop or two on your furnace filter and vacuum bag.

The whole bottle was about $3.00 on sale, and you only use just a teeny bit, it is very potent.
