Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I decided to make my homemade granola and put it in decorated Mason jars for close neighbors and friends. I do best with food

Every year I make Christmas nightgowns for the girls to open on Christmas Eve and in addition I will have new Christmas stockings for them to open as well. For the big girls I am making dolls and clothes using patterns from Bit of Whimsy. If I have time I also hope to make them a puppet theater and puppets. I am still a little up in the air about what I will be making for our youngest dd. She just got a doll for her birthday. I was thinking of making her some fabric books.

I am going to try my hand at pomanders this year. I have wanted to try them for years and this is the year I give it a shot. If they don't work out then I am not sure what I will do I will also be helping the girls make scented sachets for them to give as gifts.

We're moving next weekend (God Willing. Who knew buying a house would be so crazy??) so I don't have a huge list of things to make. But I found a pattern to knit mini Christmas trees so I'm hoping to get a bunch of those done to put on top of my homemade pumpkin bread I make every year as gifts. My sister requested a pair of knit socks but not sure if that'll make it to her this Christmas!

I found that people around here are more appreciative of some homemade bread than "sweets". That plus a small jar of homemade jam makes a nice gift.

Me, too!

I'm knitting a lot right now. We have Nutcracker rehearsals all afternoon Saturday on top of morning classes so I'll have plenty of waiting room time to knit. I have a HUGE yarn stash that I need to whittle down so everyone on my list will be receiving a knitted gift.

Oh, and I have to brag on my oldest daughter. She's been cast as the Fritz role (Francesca as there are no boys) in this year's production. The school performs 5 times in two towns.

My sister was begging for knitted mittens, but I am regretting the pattern I chose - too tedious! I think it's the best choice for her, though, so I'm slogging through it. I also want to knit my FIL an illusion scarf with a guitar on it, but I need to come up with a pattern... soon! I have other gifts I'd like to knit, but I think I'll be lucky to get these two done.

As a beginning knitter my projects can't be too ambitious in nature. I would like to knit wrist/hand warmers for my dh and oldest dd. If and when I complete that I will knit socks for dd2 and dd3. Dd4 already received a pair for another occasion, so I have to think of something else for here.

For some dear women friends I would like to make some vanilla extract and maybe some fresh linen spray.
I know I have the link somewhere how that is made...I just need to find it.

I saw these Cocolate Dipping Spoons at the Crafty Crow and thought they looked very doable and fun. I am hoping to
make some for the neighbors and a few other friends.

I'd be willing to trade cookies for some knit goodies!

Seriously -- my yarn stash is still here -- from, hm.... 10 years ago when I was in a serious knitting frenzy. Good thing the soon-to-be-9-yo is now interested in knitting maybe they'll finally get some use. I envy those of you who find time to knit! I knit two sleeves of a sweater for my dad 10 years ago, plus 4 inches of the front, and dumped them in the donate pile yesterday.

Ah, a craft thread - exactly where I should start on this board (and Hi, btw, I'm new!)

I'm finishing up some handmade items for a recent online swap, but then I'll be starting on my Christmas gifts. So far I know I want to make...
These slippers for my mom... and maybe a pair for me too
Embroidered hand-prints made into pillows for my mom & MIL
These adorable Wii Mittens for my littlest (she'll be one in January)
A knitted corset-style coffee sleeve (whose pattern has apparently been removed from Ravelry) for each of my SIL's and my younger sister

I will also try to make matching jammies/nightgowns for my children, along with a few dress up costumes since our Disney Princess gowns have really taken a beating and I recently bought a pattern for Disney Fairy costumes which looks pretty simple to do. For the boys I think some hero/knight tunics would be easy enough, and well-received!

And in the meantime I'll be making lots of crayon rolls, which I sell in my etsy store... which is currently quite empty!

Right now I'm making use of the jack-o-lanterns from the front porch and making lots and lots of pumpkin butter for family & friend gifts this year. The kids are helping me make some potpourri, and fire starters made of pinecones and scented wax. One year I made up a little cookbook of sourdough recipes and gave a loaf of bread and some of my starter with it...went over kinda big.
