Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a blender, tons of basil, and a craving for pesto! The pesto recipes I've read say to chop the basil in the food processor, and whiz the other ingredients in there as well (very simplified version of pesto recipe). But I don't have a food processor .

Is it okay to use the blender for this? Any words of wisdom about that?

Thanks.

Peace,
Nancy

I have used a blender without a problem.

I've used the chop button on my blender instead of the liguify or crush buttons when recipes call for food processors. It's just a stop and go over and over like a processor. Or just hit the on and off buttons to have the same effect .

My dh doesn't care for pesto much so I do miss doing this. We have tons of basil in our garden and I've just been eating it with mozarella & crackers, or putting in salads/sandwiches. But he might just have to put up with one pesto dinner this weekend !
