Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I put a whole chicken that was frozen solid in my fridge on Saturday night. Yesterday morning it was still frozen to some extent (there was visible ice). It appears that I left the door to the fridge partially open last night when I got a drink out. This happened no earlier than 9:30PM last night. I didn't really notice that the chicken felt warm at all, but other things in the fridge are not cold (like the 1/2 gal of milk that was sitting in the front). The chicken was *not* sitting right in the front and it was on the second shelf. It is hot here these days; I am sure it was >80 in my kitchen all night.

So, about 10 hours later is my chicken ok? I have it in the crock pot as I didn't really realize what had happened until after getting it in the crock pot. So, I can't really attest right now to how cold it was. And if it makes any difference, this chicken was frozen within hours of being killed and was hand dressed, so there was no fecal contamination or anything like that (sorry for the graphic, but not sure if that makes any difference).

Thanks in advance. I hate to have to throw it out    This was probably about a $13 chicken that will last us several days. And it is HOT here today so I don't know what else I would cook.

I would probably use it.

I'd use it. Just make sure you get the temp up all the way through. Do you have a meat thermometer? You need an internal temp of 165 for poultry.

I put it in the crock pot all day. It was a good 180 when I turned the crock pot off. We ate it. Hopefully no one gets ill
