Do you make your own cleaning product(s)?? If so, which ones??

Have you ever heard of 1-part Bronner's Castile Soap to 5-parts water with 2-3 drops of tea tree oil for cleaning just about everything?

I just mixed up a batch and cleaned my laminate floors .... they smell delicious, look beautiful. However, I think maybe too much tea tree oil .... the floors seem a little *greasy*.

What is your go-to solutions????

I use water, distilled white vinegar, and a drop or two of lavender essential oil to clean my floors. Castile soap may leave your floors greasy.

I use orange apeel & tea tree diluted with water or vinegar or tea treeoil but dh can't stand scent of tea tree so I try and avoid it sometimes using thyme or oregano oils . I also use vinegar on the odd occassion but I can't stand the scent of vinegar

dh and I truely are opposites . I too add lavender . yes castile is made from olive oil so it tends to be greasy I've only used it for laundry or shampoos etc. also with my ecsema really bad I can only use certain things with my hands . I use orange apeel for our tub too sometimes using a bit of salt or borax .

How do you use castile soap in your laundry????

For regular cleaning, I use either one of the recipes listed. I've never had a problem with greasiness... hmm...

For laundry, I grate a bar of Fels Naptha soap, mix it with 1 c Borax and 1 c washing soda.

For dishwasher detergent, I *think* the recipe was something like 1 box of Borax, 1 box of washing soda, 1 box of kosher salt, and a few spoonfuls of citric acid.

That's all the homemade cleaners we use around here. Can't wait to hear what others use!

I should add that we also use plain vinegar on windows and mirrors. You can use vinegar and baking soda together to clean a toilet bowl since it foams up.
