Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone else have this problem. It has happened periodically since we got our front loader 2.5 years ago. In the past I have always blamed it on user error, namely someone in the house chooses to overfill it    But this morning as I was putting the diapers away I found a brand new prefold eaten at the corner    Ok, clothes I can handle especially when I think it is due to user error, but don't mess with my diapers Dh is the one that started the load and he said it was pretty full, but he meant pretty full for a load of diapers. There is no way it was loaded up to the top. So, has anyone else had this problem? Is there some kind of service that I may need? My best guess all along has been that the articles have been getting caught between the drum and boot during the spin.

Thanks!

Beth

Mine eats clothes all the time My favorite black skirt was chewed up all along the hem recently and my daughter's capris were ruined recently.

I took off the cover before and found socks wound around the outside of the drum

We've noticed a few torn towels since we starting using our new front loader. They are the only thing I spin on High. I'm not sure if I like the front loader as much as a I thought I would

Items get stuck between the groove and door (hope that makes sense) and stay rumpled and wet, but not eaten. Yuck!

Love,

Ours does this too!! Or okay, not the groove, but the rubber gasket thingie that makes the door air/water-tight.

I understood that front loaders were supposed to be more gentle on clothes. Admittedly, I think I did tend to overfill ours for a while... but I've been very conscious of not doing that since the belt broke (socks and undies had escaped and wrapped around some part of the drum which caused the motor to seize, which caused the belt to break). I had previously had some damage... but the worst has been more recent. I had a sleeve cut off a top of mine! And holes in a number of t-shirts.
One of our reasons (aside from water efficiency) for getting a front loader was to allow our (small at the time) children to help with loading/unloading the machine... I'm quite relieved that when we are next in the market for a machine, we can get a top-loader without it affecting our ability to find helpers!
