Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I yearn for the perfectly-sized woven basket to store all of my baked goodies in...sandwich bread, muffins, tortillas, the occasional batch of freshly-baked cookies...Right now they all spill over from a smallish basket onto the counter in a messy jumble.

I would like a large rectangular shallow basket but can't find what I want...What do you use to store your baked goods? I want a pretty presentation but don't want to break the bank!

I like my kitchen counters to be neat (well for that moment when the kitchen is clean and the dishwasher is humming--even though it only adds up to about five minutes in my house... ).

My kitchen is excrutiatingly small at times. I use the eat in area as my office so I have some space there.. so at the end of the counter I've added a small set of drawers. I needed something that could have my KA mixer on.. there wasn't enough space under the cupboards for me to use the countertop. I put all the KA attachments in the bottom drawer. The next one up became onions and misc. (onions and potatoes should be seperate for best storage time for both) and so the top drawer became the bread drawer.    works great.

This sounds like a great solution, Jodie..I don't have room for a small set of drawers in a convenient location, though. My kitchen is a wide galley-style and my kitchen table takes all the extra floor space.

Sorry, Jennifer, but my baked goods don't last long enough to worry about storage.

Wellllll.......since you asked...

I really love Peterboro Baskets! They're so pretty, and made here in the USA, and great quality! They have 4 pages of Countertop Baskets! Don't limit yourself to looking at only those - I LOVE looking through their Tent Sale.

If Peterboro isn't in your budget right now...how about a trip to a favorite thrift store or flea market? I'm always finding pretty baskets that would be so useful at our local thrift store. If you sew at all, it would be so easy to sew a simple, but lovely little toile liner for a basket. Sew a couple so you could toss one in the washer and have a clean one for the basket.

Just my thoughts.
