Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My question has to do with whether to spend the money to print out my digital scrapbooks or whether to keep them on my digital keychain.

Some history: I have been scrapbooking since before my one and only child was born. Now he is 4.5 yrs old and I have a lot of scrapbooks. 1 per year in fact. I thought I would slow down but I have more than ever for 2009 now. 2009 will have 2 albums instead of 1!   I got for Christmas a digital photo frame but it only 5x7 and my scrapbooks are to display 12x12 so it really leaves me wanting to be able to see them better. I switched to digital sometime ago and saved big $$$:) I switched to viovio.com and saved a lot of printing too:) We do have a large screen computer downstairs where I could just put all the scrapbook pages on a keychain and let them go through slideshow for when I want to show them off.

Pro about printing out the scrapbook pages: I would have the hard copy in case I lost the key chain, in case my computer died and I didn't have the money or whatever to replace it and if the keychain or jpeg format they are in go obsolete then I would not be stuck. I see the albums as part of my retirement plan:)

Con about printing out the scrapbook pages: Its expensive. I've waited and waited to print to really save big on shipping and handling but the price to print them all (only the best mind you) would be up there still. It is only $0.86/page to print a single sided 12x12 through viovio.com and if you spend over $40.00 then s&h is $2:)
Another con is I will eventually run out of bookshelf space and then I will still need space to put my son's homeschool books on. If there were a fire God forbid the albums would be ruined but I could just grab the keychain or keep a keychain copy in the safe deposit box.

Or as a friend suggested, do both. I am making use of the keychain and the computer and I have picked the best of the best to print to have. But still it is a lot! And then I find its less costly if I buy the page protectors at ACmoore with a coupon rather than Viovio.com making the book for me and so that is an added expense.

I know it sounds like I have made up my mind but I am still wrangling with this. I hate to throw money away. I love being wise in my decisions and having money for fun family events, etc. rather then spending it all on something that will sit on a bookshelf that i will occassionally take down to look at.

I wish there was a 12x12 slideshow digital photo frame. I could not find one on the web. But even so with it all one has to do is knock it over and ooops its broken! Its on a cord plugged in and well you'd might have to see what i mean. The album with page protectors is safer in a way.

What's your thoughts please.

I have found that digital scrapbooking only the best photos and printing them out or not at all is much much cheaper than printing them all out or even just the best and putting them into regular photo album and then wonder where were we? Who is that? I bought the software too so there is no cost for me to scrapbook book at all. I LOVE it. Your thoughts please. Thank you!

flash drives are pretty inexpensive these days.. and those can make good back up copies of any files including picture files. You can't see the pictures like on a keychain digital frame.. but you can make backup copies so there are no worries about a computer crash and it would be something you could put elsewhere in case of fire etc. And flash drives would probably hold a lot more than a keychain digital frame.
