Any hints on how to deskunk your car? Dh hit one on the way home, and the car reeks. Amazing how it wafts through everything, too.

oh my.. I've never had to do a car.. tomato sauce only works so-so.. my FIL swears that a vinegar and something douche is the best rememdy.. but there's also ones if you do a search online that might at least be cheaper.

Maybe just take it to a car wash where you can hit it with good hot hard stream of water.

Hmmm...just watched a Mythbusters episode on that a few weeks ago.They tried a lot of stuff, but I think the only remedy that actually worked was a combo of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap. But this was not on a car, so your mileage may vary.

baking soda on dry let sit for as long as possible . then vaccum .or you can just set bowls of soda in the car and the scent should be soaked up . for really bad smell I spirikle it right on the spot . vinegar really takes stink out of dog for sure or clothes etc. so if you can splash the car with viegar water perhaps .

Here are a few ideas; some may cost a bit but it's better than getting sick every time you ride in your vehicle. Have you checked whether car insurance covers such an incident? Seems as though they ought to if they cover deer collisions!

~Some car detail shops have ozone treatment available or you might be able to DIY by renting an ozone generator (for the interior).

~You should be able to have the engine washed professionally at full-service car washes or car dealers. A thorough wash of the exterior, the engine, and perhaps the interior should help.

~You might want to consider changing any air filters, along with filters on heat and a/c systems. Seems like any filters could have gotten sprayed or absorbed the smell. Even the oil filter may have absorbed the scent and be worth changing out. You might be able to check these for smell before changing them if your vehicle isn't really due for changing them yet.

~A heavy-duty odor absorber in the interior might be helpful until the smell goes away.
