oh it's rainy today.. we should have a soup type thing.. the kids don't much care for soup though so that's difficult.. I do have a couple of chicken carcasses to cook into broth.. have to think on this some more.

Me too! It was getting so bad that as soon as the baby went down for her nap, I threw an apple cake in the oven to be ready in time for "lunch." (Hoping I can wait even that long!)

Glad you think so. I do it mostly to motivate myself. 'Cause it often is 6:30 here and I haven't defrosted anything for dinner. Right now I've already chopped bacon (for the corn chowder) and all the vegetables for the meat sauce. I'm thinking of adding Antakya Mercimek Koftesi (similar to falafel; testing for St. Ignatius of Antioch feastday)...

I just had 12 4th grade boys leave after hosting our VA History Studies club. I've paired up with another mom and we each take a month, 2 X per month meeting. Today was my first day with them. I wasn't mentally prepared. They are way more like a bunch of little girls (giggly, wiggly and did I say giggly) than I thought.
So I'm rewarding myself for not pulling out any hair (mine or theirs :-) with my fave meal, baked potatoes and steak. Pulling out the big guns on a weekday. This is usually our Sunday meal...can't wait this week!

Mmmm.... breakfast for dinner. We have leftover egg casserole from a weekend with my parents, and I'll add fresh applesauce, potatoes, pancakes and chicken sausage. Yum.

We are having the most beautiful autumn weather! Sunny days and mild evenings. So for dinner tonight, I prepared Chili-Lime Pork Tenderloin. I served it with guacamole, salad, sauteed peppers and onions, green beans, broccoli, and Mexican potato wedges. We eat lots of vegetables over here!

Great minds think alike, Paula - we're having pasta e fagioli soup (chicken base) and bread - hopefully the new recipe for bread I tried worked.
