Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We baked desserts for 40 people yesterday (in the heat) and so cooking sounds, well, not too fun right now. My official menu plan calls for chicken lo mein, which I've never made before. I might swap for Greek pasta (Wednesday's dinner). Last night, dh grilled ahi tuna on orange slices, yum!

Beef Stew. Not a very August-y meal, but it's only supposed to be in the low 70's and I'm trying to clean out my freezer!

My two oldest and dh will be at a Nationals game. So they'll be having hot dogs or Brats.

But... we'll be having leftovers and maybe frozen tater tots with lots of ketchup thrown in for good measure... and watermelon.

Leftover pork chops, cucumber salad, and probably hashbrowns. Personally, I prefer to use up all of the leftovers before filling the fridge with something else. I'd have done something else with the chops, if DH hadn't blackened them all last night...lol...

Anyway, I'm with you on the hashbrowns (that's like mac and cheese here, lol). But DH never goes away...I guess I should be glad, since he was gone so much with the army, before his retirement...but we spent so much time in our marriage with him not there, well, I got used to it, lol..

A bit of morning sickness (well, afternoon sickness for me) is starting to hit here ...

So it looks like Chicken Caesar Sandwiches for my hubby and just a plain salad with some diced chicken thrown in for me (the plainer, the better). The kids will probably have some diced chicken with leftover pasta.

Roast chicken with rosemary (smells so good right now!), pasta with butter, and insalata Caprese.

Our "dinner" was lunch. For the first day of school, I made chicken garden salad. Which is just a fancy name for grilled chicken cut up and put on top of a bed of lettuce and then toppings to add. I also made some garlic bread.

For dinner we had leftovers

Children had friends over so (at the children's request) we enjoyed two dishes:

Beef Stroganoff over rice & Chicken Alfredo over noodles
Bowls of sliced pears and pineapple chunks
Buttered Corn
Brussel Sprouts
Biscuits
