I'm looking to replace my Kitchenaid Professional 600

It worked great... when it worked.. but had a lifespan of about 2 yrs.. give or take.. mostly take.

There's got to be a better mixer out there that can handle the larger loads on a regular basis.

I don't mind making bread in 2 loaf batches.. but then I'm doing it several times a week.

When I make cookies I make a double batch if we want to have them for more than a single event or a couple of days.

I make 4 loaves of quick bread at a time.

I want to

make bread
whip cream
mix cookie dough
grind fruits and veggies and nuts and maybe meat
grate/slice frozen bread and potatoes

now the kitchen aid could do all that.. but as I said above I would kill it in 2 yrs give or take (mostly take)

I could get away without the grinder and get a hand grinder for $30

But I still need it to do all the rest

oh and if it has a blender that is great let me know (I know the bosch has one) I need a blender too

But my ILs are wanting to spend money on one apparently and want to know my preference.

I was thinking Bosch.. what are the drawbacks to it? I saw one review that said it ends up with a well in the middle where ingredients don't mix?

But if there's something else???

Jodie, nakking right now and have to go soon. I've posted a lot about my DLX before -- I *think* it has a grinder attachment but I don't have it, I do have the blender and it works great but I'm thinking of getting a Vita-Mix *one day*.

it whips cream *just like that*. i've had several ARGH moments when i left it for *just 3 seconds* and when i came back it was butter.

ETA:

what am i saying, i do have the grinder attachment. for meat -- i've never tried it for nuts.

Thanks Stef.. I'll have to look at the DLX more.. I killed 3 KA (the professional 600) following their directions for load.. they're a great mixer.. except that they can't handle the higher load (within their specs) over time. The one that lasted longest made it just over 2 years.. the least.. about 9 months. When people are talking about how they have their mother's KA and it's been going for 30 years you just gotta wonder.. what did they do?!?!!?

oh and grinding is great.. the nuts come out fairly uniform and not as thin as when you grate them.. and when you grind zucchini for pickle relish you have a texture that stays fairly close to commercial pickle relish.. and jams are just lovely made with ground up fruit.. there's bits in it but overall it's much "pulpier" and rich since the bits are small.. rather than the thinner jelly with larger bites of fruit.
