Anyone have this? My kitchen floors are sticky every.single.day. My options are to ban eating, just deal with stickiness every day, or mop every night. And the mopping thing is getting really old. And it's taking away my 4real forum time!!!! 
So I was wondering if anyone had this supposedly light-weight wonder and had some feedback.

I don't have one.. but i was wondering if perhaps the finish on the floor was wearing off? it can be much harder to keep clean and may even feel sticky when clean if that's the case.. in a rental I was able to deal with that by using a mop n glow type wax on it to give it a "new finish" and save my sanity.

That's interesting Jodie! It doesn't feel sticky after I mop it, but I'm sure in my quest to find the best substance to clean my floor -- I could have used something that could hurt the finish.
Which is another reason why I wondered if the Steam Cleaner would be good.
I'll have to look into Mop and Glo.

not much time...have it because my kitchen floor really needs to be gone over every day too...it is a good every day tool...light weight and easy and really does clean pretty well...my almost 11 year old can get the floors reasonably clean with it and doesn't mind the chore at all. I ordered six extra pads from amazon (it comes with two) so we have enough for all week and a Friday night soak and wash.

...tagging onto your thread, Maryan!!! Thank you for asking about this. I almost got this today at Costco...I've been waffling for over a year now. I put it in the cart...I took it out...I put it in...I took it out. I know people around me were thinking why doesn't that silly woman with the baby strapped to her just make up her mind already!!! In the end...I left it.  But....I'm so anxious to hear other's opinions. I just keep waffling.
My floor is tile...and like yours...always...sticky...with...something. I love the idea of a steam cleaning mop - no more mop stuff to buy. I use Murphy's for my tile and hardwoods, but it's such a drag getting it out, getting out the mop, filling with hot water, mop, rinse, repeat... that I....um....don't mop....very often. Don't tell anybody, ok?
I'm really grateful for Colleen's insight about the extra pads and the ease of use factor - that's a biggie for me!!! And, I'd love to hear about other's experiences.

Ooh, I've been looking for something like this. I'll have to look into it. Jennifer, I also have tile and am in the same boat. I had found that not much got the floor clean except a lot of elbow grease so the floor was not getting mopped much at all.
I also dislike sweeping and sweeping with a broom just doesn't get it all up. Anyone use a hardwood/tile vacuum? Sorry to hijack your thread, Maryan.

First time back on the forums in a few days - could not resist this - cleaning appliances are one of my favorite things!!
We have used the Shark steam mop for almost 2 years - it is the BEST - we use on hardwood, pergo and ceramic tile - so easy to use. Even my 5 year old can do the kitchen floor.
My only caveat - we are on our second - if dropped on a hard floor, they can just conk out.
another thing - it cleans but does not shine - when i want a shine i use murphys
...back to snuggling...

 I was so hoping you'd pop in to give us your opinion!
I think I'll check my next week's allowance $$ and maybe give it a go. Right now, I could care less about shine - I just don't want to stick to the floor anymore!

Have to agree - love my Shark. Got it on the recommendation of my sister. It was my Mother's Day present last year and we just love it! Even my husband likes using it.

It was the Euro Pro Shark Steam Mop - around $68-ish.

I'm writing back in to say that I also shine with Murphy's or Holloway House when the wood floors seem to need a little extra something and that I alternate doing the baths with the steam cleaner and the Shmop because I like the smell of the clean floors in the bath.
Cleaning for me is very sensorial and while I love the feel of that steam scraping up all the dirt and stickies, I do miss a nice smell. I'm thinking I could add a few drops of a favorite essential oil to the water and get the same feel as a lovely ironing spray would. What do you guys think?

Colleen - that's a great idea. The instructions do say to not add anything to the water - but I am not sure a couple of drops of essential oil will do harm?
For those with bucket of water mops - I wonder if you might do well with a shmop instead - I use this as well as the steam cleaner (and it is easy for the kids too) - no buckets of water to cart around. We use either my homemade floor cleaner or the squirt and go Murphys - wet the shmop a little and then squirt and mop.
One more thing about the steam mop - if there are really sticky yucky bits on the floor - kids steaming may not get them off - though when I do it I manage - it takes a bit of pressure.

Marilyn -- granted my Shmop is a couple of years old - but I was frustrated with it. It just could not lay flat and get corners. It was totally frustrating. The other frustrating part is that I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem!!!
So we went back to mop and bucket. If I get the water hot enough then they dry quickly -- but I can't afford to have a wet floor for too long. So that was another reason for me to look into the Shark. I'm sure it dries fast.

I love my Shark steam mop! I also bought extra pads. I think they are necessary if you are going to use it daily and/or have a large area you need to mop.

I just got a Shark steam mop and love it! But I noticed that the instructions say to hand wash the pads so they don't get lint from machine washing. I do NOT want to hand wash. Do I REALLY need to?

I obviously did not read the instruction manual. I have yet to handwash my pads. They're fine. I wonder if they'd last longer if I did hand wash, but then I think it takes away from it being a convenience, at least for me.
