Tonight, I'm making chicken potpie. I'm still trying to cook/eat clean the freezer and pantry this week, so I can save my money to buy veggie plants and Longaberger Baskets. I will have to go to the store and buy a vital part of this meal though, the rotisserie chicken. I'll serve a ceasar salad along with it and maybe something with blueberries for dessert.
What's cooking at your house??

What's cooking? Frankly, I don't know. I'm glad you started the thread, Mary Chris, because I forgot to take something out. So now I have some chicken breasts sitting on the counter. We'll see. There will be rice and veggies and spinach salad and French rolls -- probably broiled chicken breasts, as that's the favorite around here.
I hear you about the veggie plants! This is our big weekend, and I do hope the storms hold off so we can get our garden in!

DH is on nights, so supper will be at lunch time. We're having a pork ham roast with steamed rice and a veggie TBD (likely green beans). Spinach salad for those that will eat it.
At supper time we'll probably do leftovers from lunch (like a bbq pork sandwich) or soup from a can.

I am making Kung Pau Chicken and Sweet Chili Chicken (I have boys who won't let veggies pass their lips). Serving it with rice and green peas (since I know the boys will eat that).
I just planted my herbs this past weekend. I would like to plant some tomatoes and strawberries, but I do have a very small garden!

The kids will have homemade soup. Dh and I haven't decided yet, but we are bringing in takeout for our 15th anniversary (we go all out, don't we ). We want to do something different that we can't do with the kids - something yummy and filling and smothered in food allergens. We're thinking maybe Italian, Thai, Indian? Does anyone know if I can get non-spicy versions of those last two types?

Maybe you should look for a strawberry barrel and hang those upside down tomatoes!

Happy Anniversary, Amy!
I have no idea what I'm making for dinner. Kung Pao chicken sounds delicious, Carole - how do you make that?

Happy anniversary, Amy! Frankly, I like take-out if it's just dh and I indulging. Any meal that I can eat without interruptions is heaven.
My sister loves Thai and can order it non-spicy. Indian I can't say -- I have strong dislike for it.

Pork Tenderloin with brown rice and veggies, spinach salad and cornbread that Maggie (oldest daughter) has promised to make...
Now, let's figure out what's for lunch...

Got company coming.. we're going to have enchiladas (probably cheese and chicken) and refried beans and salad and maybe rice..
Amy - I can get thai non-spicy.. actually around here they double check with me when I ask for it to be spicy because so many don't want it spicy.

Jenn, thanks for the ideas. I may put those into action! My dh would love some fresh tomatoes. And the dc would love the strawberries.
Maria, I used this recipe from Cook's except I left out the broccoli. It smells pretty good, and I did take a small taste (I'm the cook...I'm allowed) and it tastes pretty good as well.

Probably chicken sort of cacciatore over noodles or rice, and salad. I just bought a Costco bag of romaine, and I forsee a lot of salad in the next few days.

I came home from our co-op today to a lovely phone call from a friend telling me she was going to bring dinner by tonight...I am still basking in the glow of her anticipated kindness.
Enjoy your lovely dinners, tonight. I know I will, whatever it is!
Peace.

Amy--there is lots of good non-spicy Indian. Any tandoor meat is delicious and not necessarily spicy. Palak paneer (spinach with cheese) is not too spicy. Dahl can be not too spicy. Samosas are good. Mmm. I'm missing our old favorite Indian lunch buffets.
Anyway, we've been into pastas with greens and veggies thrown in--no red sauce. Tonight I think I'm doing pasta with kale, chickpeas, feta, diced tomatoes and anything else I find in the fridge. Maybe some onions or roasted garlic.

Annie helped me make our Poorman's Meal last night.
Her daddy called and asked what we were having for supper and his reply was, "So I've been reduced to this, huh? We're officially poor."
I also made a pot of red beans and rice w/ sausage for those who didn't care for the Poorman's Meal, but it was a hit and both dishes got eaten up.
No leftovers.
