How do you do this? I Googled and mostly found that you need to use WD-40. I really don't want to do that. Any other suggestions......? I prefer to not have yellow spots on my darks, especially the new maternity shirt and shorts I bought at a garage sale last week

Is it big chunks? Did you try freezing it and taking it off?
WD-40 is just fish oil, not dangerous.
Lots of blotting, ironing in between disposable cloths to remove as much as possible instructions like this
You would need to use something to remove wax. Goo-Gone is another one. Maybe Simple Green might work? I did notice my hardware store had a candle wax remover, which was probably some kind of solvent.

goo-gone is the one I use.. after you get the wax out you'll want to treat for spots.. either for any color left behind or for grease.. the solvents have oils.. but just a bit of dawn dish soap or 409 type cleaner for instance would get that out.

The best way to get the wax out is to iron the item (from the reverse side) onto brown-paper -- btw, this is a tip from my 20yo son, the altar server. The iron melts the wax and the brown-paper soaks it up. Then getting the dye out use a bit of dish soap rubbed into the spot, let sit and then wash.

Years ago, I think I used baking soda in the laundry successfully (or I dreamed it, lol).
Google crayons and baking soda to get lots of ideas.

Lots and lots of oxy-clean. Billy Mayes can work wonders, I say!  I washed and dried a melted crayon (one of the ones you make in the driveway with all your leftover crayons?) and it was all over everything! Just keep soaking clothes in the sink with warm water and OC, rub it into the stain, rinse and repeat. It took me the better part of an evening, but just about everything came out. Maybe start with your least favorite article in the bunch to make sure, but it should work.

Oh, thank you for all of your ideas. I still have all the clothes in a ile, waiting to be worked on. I know it's going to take up a lot of time and my husband is out of town. I hope to get to is some evening while the kids are in bed....what a way to spend an evening alone!
