Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking to try this, again! My dd and I always end up with some machine issues and give up. Hopefully we can overcome them this time!

So I'm hoping to find a book that will give us the inside to sewing vocabulary, and have some good beginning projects.

Anyone have any favorites to recommend for us newbies???

Kacky,
I just blogged about the perfect book.
You sound just like me!

Kacky ... here are some others that might help ... I blogged about them here. I particularly like the Winky Cherry ones and the Tina Davis!

Elizabeth, I have that book in my amazon cart, and think I will go for it after reading what you wrote! I wanted it, but wanted to make sure it would make sense to someone with as little knowledge as I have. I have a few other books, but they move too quickly for my skill level, and then I just get bewildered and frustrated. I've wanted to do this for so long, I'm glad to see this thread!

I like Stitches and Pins from Bunkhouse Sewing. I have used it to teach a group of young girls the fundementals of sewing. I especially like that the full-size patterns are included for each project.

Thanks ladies! I've added the book Elizabeth recommended to the cart and I think I actually recall having a few of the books you have on your list Mary G...if I can just find them and dust them off
