I am still trying to come up with an idea for dinner tonight. It is our busy day and I would love to just chuck cooking tonight and go out for dinner. Ds11 is finishing his Teaching Textbook 5 today, that feels like a reason to celebrate......right???
I think we are going to do salad, grilled cheese and tomato soup. Anyone have a good tomato soup recipe they are willing to share???
Breakfast was english muffins for most and chicken pot pie for ds11.
Lunch is leftover meatloaf and the last of that chicken pot pie.

I vote for eating out, Mary Chris! 
I'm still trying to decide what to have here.
Breakfast was French Toast.
Lunch will be out as I have to go get my retainer today. I'd LOVE to do Panerra Bread...but it's so expensive and our littlest eats more than my 4 yo.  If I were together, I'd bring a picnic lunch...but I'm not together. So....somewhere cheap and tolerable.
Dinner I'm thinking of making something new...from Laurel's Kitchen - Lentil Nut Loaf (which may in some way make up for the grease burgers we are likely to eat today for lunch), those delicious sounding sweet potato fries in olive oil, and a big green salad.

For lunch we will be eating out since we are going to be getting together with some other homeschoolers for art.
For dinner: picadillo, rice and a salad.

Mine is classic. Open a can of Campbell's soup. Add one can of milk. Heat. Dip your grilled cheese in soup. And... yum. We had this last night! Except I was out of milk -- so had to use half and half. It was really creamy!! And an awfully expensive version of an inexpensive classic.

We used to just eat leftovers again on the next day... but now our leftovers are down to one or two servings, so we eat them for lunch.

I used to make our tomato soup the same way, but ... it is different over here. Think I will try Elizabeth's recipe! 
And yes, we do have a leftover night as well, Jenn. I don't have a lot of leftovers on any given night (and sometimes none at all), so I have to wait for two or three nights to go by before I can serve leftovers.
Tonight we are having from the store fresh pizza. The children are staying with friends and dh and I are going out of town (provided we can drive out in the snow). Yes, we have snow and it never snows in South Wales! Schools are closed and everyone is taking a holiday.

Yeah, snow!  God's way of slowing things down! (Definitely sounds like global warming, doesn't it? )
I usually make enough for dh to take lunch as leftovers, but if I make big pots of soup, stew, spaghetti -- meals like that -- I serve it again in a few days. And try to freeze some, too.
I was just reading an Italian priest's book (I can't recommend it) on how families made large batches of food to serve several nights. He said this was necessity because there was no microwave or store-bought mixes or ready-made meals. When everything is made from scratch, it takes time, so having some "quick meals" from leftovers was necessary.

No idea. Breakfast was cereal (the eldest wanted to "make" breakfast ). Lunch will be leftovers, but supper...DH goes on night shift tonight so it might be grilled cheese and tomato soup (boxed) here too!

Only if I put the food away immediately after dinner, and issue clear instructions (read: 3 adolescent boys in the house!)
Yes, I plan it if I see that I'm making several large meals in a row - after leftover night, if there's still some remaining, it becomes lunch fare.

Well, my dh wasn't really excited about it when I mentioned what might be on the table tonight. So...maybe I'll just make Italian Lentil Stew after all. I'm feeling wimpy. Or, maybe tomato soup and grilled cheese!

Probably zuchinni casserole with steamed broccoli or broccoli soup. Right after a short nap I'm batch cooking. Casserole, broccoli in peanut sauce, curried potato soup, maybe chili. We'll see how my enthusiasm holds out.
