Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just wanted to let you know I just just posted a review of three really great knitting books you might want to add to your last-minute gift list (or to buy with your Christmas money). These three -- one by Nicky Epstein and two by Melissa Leapman -- are not just wonderful "eye candy"; they are spectacular in their coverage of knitting techniques, history and glorious projects too.

Have you seen any other new ones I need ?

OK, Mary-

Now which of these would be best for my MIL? Her birthday is the end of january. She is 71 and a life long knitter... sweaters ever since I've known her. But always ripping things out and starting over...

Would a long term sweater knitter appreciate a break into scarves or hats, or would something like the cable knitting book be best?

I would like to get her something she will really enjoy... any thoughts?

Thanks
