You ladies are killing me! How do you get to be friends and is there an instruction area to show how to use Ravelry? I thought it would be months before I'd get on there, so I'm really tickled that I got invited so soon. I had one pattern I really wanted to find; that was teh "Anne scarf" which I think is crocheted. My sisi gave me some beeeauuuutiful Atacama yarn last year and I think I'll make that scarf with it.

I love it! My two favorite places coming together!
Liz, you can find someone by searching for their username, and then click on "add to friends". You can search for patterns by name, also. The possibilities are endless, which is why I have to severely limit my time on there!!

I am - "Nissa". I signed up right at the beginning, but never used it, lost my credentials, then signed up again. Still hadn't been using it until some gals on my email list encouraged me to set up a group. I spent a goodly amount of time on the site yesterday.
It wasn't a total bust, though. I got a pilot cap knitted for the baby between a late night watching the convention with Brian, and playtime this morning.

Do I understand this correctly? If you don't actually use your membership, you lose it? While I really like looking at all the great projects there, I'm not sure I can devote a lot of time to figuring it all out and using it. I wish I was more computer literate

No, what I meant was that I misplaced them and had to sign up again. That's the reason I pick my own name for a userID. I need something that I can remember.

I’m bumping this thread.....as I recuperate, I am knitting like a crazy girl...and started snooping around in Ravelry.....what a cool, cool site for yarn enthusiasts!!!

I joined and then sort of forgot about it.....but I have to say, this could be great fun to peek at for inspiration. I am impressed with the amazing amount of patterns on this site, it is unbelievable, and many are free!!!!
In order to look at anything, you have to create an account, it takes just a few minutes....very easy.

Yep ... I have some of my patterns on there, both for sale and free! It is a wonderful spot for all things knitterly (and crochet-ish, too!). My screen name is ByHandWithHeart and I also have a designer page, Mary C Gildersleeve. I've gotten very active on there this summer, so that's where I'll always post any of my new designs ... let me know what you think!

Somehow I missed this thread the first time around so glad you bumped it up! I've been on Ravelry about 2 yrs or more I think. I'm catsknit over there. I really like the way the forums are done and wish we had the agree/love/etc buttons on this one sometimes, maybe even a "praying" one would be helpful, and space-saving!
