I went to a Pampered Chef party yesterday - I haven't been in a few years. I have lots of PC stuff that I LOVE.

The consultant was having a sale on stoneware - I told her I used to have a rectangle stone which I loved, until I dropped it and broke it. She tried to convince me to replace it... and I told her "Oh no, I just use a turkey roaster now". The whole room just stopped and stared at me - I guess they've never seen a casserole designed to feed 9 people with leftovers, LOL!

I saw a few things I would like but I'm not sure will be any easier when cooking in large batches. Like the food chopper - I use 1 1/2 onions on average; if I have to chop the onion in four batches, is it saving me anytime than if I just chop it by hand?

Do any of you have a Pampered Chef item you LOVE? What is it and why?

I am getting 3 of the orange peelers. The kids make me crazy asking me to peel their oranges... by the time I peel 6 oranges, I've lost the feeling in my fingers!

I've used my batter bowls probably almost daily since I bought them (actually they were free from hosting a party ) about 10 years ago. They're the glass 4 and 8 cup capacity with handles and lids. They are so heavy and they are great for the little kids since they have handles and the littles can see what they're stirring through the glass!

I use the spatulas every day. Hmmm...the round baking stone, meat thermometer, hand-held rolling pin (great for kids!). I use all those at least once a week and love them.

I do have the chopper, but really it chops too small a quantity. I usually just chop onions by hand. The one time I get out my PC chopper is to chop cranberries for A Cranberry Thanksgiving's cranberry bread.

I haven't been to any Pampered Chef parties since my own 10 years ago, so there may be some cool new things. But, I'd put my money on those batter bowls any day.

I love my chopper! I use it all the time. I use the batter bowl all the time, too.

My favorite item is the family skillet. I use it everyday. I love that it can go in the oven! I can make a huge casserole in it, using it first on the stove to brown the meat then putting the whole thing in the oven.

I use my flat stones and bar pan stone very frequently too.

The colander bowl set is great. The bowls clean up so easily, especially things like bread dough.

By the way, my consultant has six kids!

One thing I really want are the metal mixing bowls.

They ARE great! I can make huge quantities of salads and such, put on the lid for the fridge, serve in the bowl, and dishwash later.

I LOVE these too. They are big enough to mix up huge batches of pancake batter or cookie dough and the biggest is perfect for packing in several pounds of grapes when you are meeting three friends and their 17 kids. The grapes don't get smooshed before they are inhaled.

My toaster oven stone gets used all the time. I can cook 6 or 8 cookies on it. We keep them frozen and only eat 2 each at a time, so it can still be 2 batches, but then I don't have to heat up the regular oven (and the house). Since we don't have a microwave, it's perfect for warming a piece of pizza or fish under foil or quiche or....

You all have room in the dishwasher for big bowls? By the time I get all of the drinking cups and cereal bowls in, I'm full! LOL

I have TWO pizza stones and use them for everything! And I loved my batter bowl, but it got broken too and I replaced it the cheap way with a garage sale Pyrex.
The batter bowl makes perfect Princess and Volcano cakes, the Pyrex not so much.

I LOVE the garlic press and use that a lot.

This thread was all about favorite kitchen tools, and my list was all but one PC kitchen item (I am a little biased, being a consultant as well, but I fell in love with it BEFORE I became a consultant). Here is my list:

1) My non-stick cookware (PC) because the see-through lids and such easy clean-up. It makes it easy for me to wait on the dishes if I need to, because I know that it will still be easy to clean.

2) My Santoku knife (PC) because even though I am little, I feel like I have the power to slice/dice/chop ANYTHING with this knife in my hand. (Cay, I agree with you about those paring knives. Those little things are great!)

3) The PC stoneware (ANY pieces). I use them for everything, including in my microwave, and I love the easy clean-up.

4) The silicone spatulas/spoonulas - same reason as Jodie (PC) - I can use them to mix and they are safe on my non-stick cookware.

5) Easy clean Kitchen brush with a long handle to keep my hands out of the water, for my stones and cookware washing. I can throw it in the dishwasher when I am all done, and it comes so clean. (PC - should I stop mentioning that?? )

6) Food chopper - especially when I am in a hurry, or have to relieve some stress

7) Stand up KitchenAid mixer - NOT PC

8) Stainless steel mixing bowls with lids (PC). They have a nice rubber bottom to keep me from chasing them all over the counter, and they have soo many sizes.

9) All my measuring tools from PC - easy read measuring cups that I don't have to look at from the side; and adjustable measuring spoons and cups (one for cups and one for tsp/tbsp); and measure all cup.

10) Jar opener (PC). My DH is not usually home when I need help opening something, so this is perfect for my mason jars, jelly jars that are stuck, or even a little nail polish bottle. I gave this to my mom one christmas and she uses it for her medicine bottle as well.

Oh, yeah! How could I forget these? I use them all the time--there's the small colander (I use this almost every day), then the two mixing bowls all nested inside the giant colander (just used this yesterday for a few pounds of grapes). I didn't know there were metal bowls with lids! They sound great. I really do love my PC stuff.

I love this pitcher! Although I don't have the family size, I have a smaller one (2 quart). I'll have to keep the bigger one on my wish list . But we do love this. It's so quick and easy to mix up drinks, and you don't have to "dirty" up a lg. spoon everytime you need to mix again.

We also have something similar to this paring knife.. Ours looks a little different (probably just an older model). Love it, though. Never gets dull.

Also, use their orange peelers and the can strainer.

Oh we love our pizza stone! I have been trying to find a consultant so I can order a couple more. I also saw that they have this cool gadget that break up hamburger while you brown it. Someone told me that they found it much easier to use that then stand there with the wooden spoon and hack away at it the whole time. I envy you your PC party! How I wish I could go to one! Sigh.

Blessings,
Betsie

They now have an outlet with sale items and it looks like you can order online at their website.

Dishwasher? What's that?

Actually, these bowls are so big, they don't fit in my dishwasher at all, but they are so easy to clean (especially with the scrubbing brush that Fuzzy mentioned and especially after GRAPES) that I don't mind doing it. The largest--a 24 cup capacity!--is in my sink right now as a matter of fact.

I LOVE so many of my pampered chef things....I used to have a party every year (maybe until about baby #3....that was the cut-off-point for me ),

These are the things I use almost EVERY DAY and LOVE:

1. Non-stick cookware....love it, love it, love it. Esp the gigantic family skillet.

2. The Spatulas

3. Kitchen Shears

4. The cutting boards, esp the Large Grooved Cutting Board

5. Bamboo Spatulas and Spoons

6. Stainless Whisk

7. Either the Large or Mini Serving Spatulas

8. The Easy-Clean-Brush is the BEST BRUSH EVER....I have never found another brush that is as PERFECT as this one!

Here are some of my other favorites, not nec. used every day:

1. Medium scoop....use it for cookies!

2. Stackable Cooling Racks...very good use of space for those of us with no counter space. I can make lots of cookies, etc. and just keep stacking them.

3. Stoneware

4. Can Opener

5. Crinkle Cutter....I don't know why it's so fun to use this crazy thing!

Fuzzy.....I have a couple things to order and was going to do it on-line. Can we log on with your consultant name so that you get credit, or doesn't PC work that way?

I've always drooled over PC but ... well ... dh works for the Catholic Church, so I haven't been able to get much ... but now, the outlet store looks fairly doable
