Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...ice cream EVER.

Purely Decadent has made a line that uses coconut milk, in stead of dairy or soy or rice.

I can't have dairy at all, or too much soy, and the rice milk based ice creams are kind of icky.

This is so good. I mean, it is like really and truely having regular ice cream. DH got it at WholeFoods. (the same brand also makes soy based ones, I have not tried them.) He brought me home Chocolate.

I was hoping it would be good, but I wasn't too hopeful, because I have tried all the other kinds and why bother eating "ice cream" if it tastes like they do? But I had heard good thing about this and figured I would give it a try.

Oh, my. YUM! So good! It's real ice cream. It's an excellent taste, texture, etc. The chocolate still has a slight but delicious hint of coconut. No one could tell that this isn't just regular ice cream, IMO.

Thank you so much for the tip, Laura. My 5yo dd had been dairy and soy-free until recently. Now the allergist says she can have soy, but she doesn't like it. We are slowly introducing some dairy, but she can't tolerate it yet. This sounds like a great alternative in the meantime.

Ack, I just went to Whole Foods today! I saw this too late.      It will go on my list for our next trip.
