Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I seem to have the worst luck with pencil sharpners! I think I sharpen a pencil every day....it drives me crazy! Any good ones out there! One that actually sharpens would help!

I really like the bolt to the wall hand crank one we got from dickblick.. we've had it a couple years now I think.. and it's still holding it's own.. and most of the kids can use it so I'm not the one sharpening pencils.. matter of fact I usually send a child to sharpen a pencil for me

Jodie...I was thinking of a hand crank. I remember the line in the classroom, waiting to use them. I remember they worked! Don't know where I would put it.

Laura...thank you for the old thread! I never thought of the quality of the pencil. That is probably my problem as well.

A hand-crank, wall or counter mount, all metal, X-Acto version, from dickblick has worked wonderfully for us! I love that it also adjusts to several pencil sizes. We also have a Boston electric and several handheld versions, but our children always seem to gravitate to the hand-crank wall version, mounted inside our library closet...which gets a LOT of traffic!
