Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm searching for a U.S. made or fair trade baby quilt, but I'm having great difficulty finding one. It needs to have lavender in it, since that and yellow are the prevalent colors in the room. Any ideas?

Are you searching online or local? Do you have a local craft guild you could contact?
Perhaps Etsy?

I also know of people who've sold hand made quilts on ebay so you might try looking there too.

Have you tried asking around locally? Maybe in your homeschool group if you belong to one? At church? Even a local fabric shop may know of someone who creates quilts.

If you're looking online, I'd look at etsy.com. There are some absolutely beautiful pieces made there, and I've been happy with the handmade things I've purchased (fabric totes, slings, nursing covers . . . )

Good Luck! What a wonderful gift!

I ordered a baby quilt over a month ago. Finally, I contacted the company who told me, "Hmm...we didn't even know you ordered anything. We haven't carried that quilt for quite some time. Yahoo left it ... blah blah blah." I thought that company just a *bit* irresponsible.

Here's what I chose. Our baby room (the first one we have and it's for our eighth child!) is in lilac and yellow with lilac gingham curtains. If I can figure out how to use a camera with my laptop, I'll post a picture of the nursery on my blog someday (don't hold your breath ).

I hope Etsy follows through. Sounds like *you* all are happy with them. I had to order quickly! This baby is due within a week. Thanks for the referral!
