I am trying to organize the weekly binders for each child - and I so desperately need pocket binder dividers- I have tried using pocket folders and hole punching them, but it never seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Buy dividers with pockets. They are fairly common. I get nice strong plastic ones at Staples, 8 pack for $1.

Thanks LeeAnn - I have looked extensively at Office Depot and their website - but have not checked Staples - I will google them now.

I know at my Staples they are in the same row as the 3 ring notebooks, often on the end cap.
Deals had some today, but they seemed not as strong.
I hope you find what you need.

The poly (plastic) style pocket dividers have lasted us several years. We also have zippered cloth covered binders that we have used for even more years. We used to have to replace such items each year, but the ones we currently have are virtually indestructable!

Where did you get the zippered, cloth covered binders Servant? We used binders with pocket dividers last year and it worked like a charm so we'll do it again this year.
We used the Avery brand dividers and they're still in great shape so we'll re-use them this year. The binders are a little rough looking though, even though I thought they would last a few years. We got the kind with the clear covers so the kids could design their own cover. It was fun, but I think we'll try something different in the way of binders.

Becky - I just picked up zippered cloth binders from Costco yesterday - $9.99 with color coded dividers for each subject a calculator, pencil pouch etc. They are going to form the basis for my organization this year.
I posted about looking for them here:
The organization dilemma

I don't remember where we bought the zippered, cloth-covered binders, but the brand is No Boundaries (I almost didn't buy them because of the name). I know I got them during a back-to-school sale, so they may not be stocked in stores year-round. Ours are in deep tones of primary colors with black accents. Since manufaturers seem to change styles every year there's no telling whether you'd be able to find anything similar now. The ones we found have mesh outer pockets and zippered pockets for pencils, etc. and have been very durable, considering our dc children needed new binders every year in the past. I think we've had them for 5 years now and they barely seem worn...best of all they aren't falling apart at the binding like most other binders we'd tried before. We've used several types of vinyl covered binders, including the ones with the clear pocket covers and even tried better grade versions but they always seemed to crack and come apart where the cover meets the side binding. I think the cloth on the ones we have may be stronger than vinyl (it actually seems like a lightweight canvas)...having a zipper all around the top, side and bottom may contribute to less stress being put on the binding.
We've had the poly pocket dividers for about three years and those are lasting well too! They're plastic, in clear pale colors, with slanted pockets (couldn't find a brand name). We'll definitely use them again this year.
Another great item that we've used for several years is wooden clipboards...they work like a small lapdesk and keep daily paperwork close-at-hand so there's less need to get things in and out of binders throughout the day. We bought them as a six-pack at Sam's.
Now, if we could just find pencils that don't wear down to tiny nubs within a few days! I'm going to check out Ticongeroga, based on past discussions here! The only difficulty there is that we color code supplies so that everyone can identify their belongings if they're left laying around. Maybe I can get all the same color and use a strip of colored tape which someone here suggested for labeling books. School supplies are almost as exciting as boxes full of new books!
