Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We pop a lot... and our ratio of popped to non-popped kernels is about an even 50/50. On a good day maybe 75% will pop. I have tried different brands... what is the secret? Which brand is best? I store the popcorn in a glass jar on my pantry shelf. I get bummed throwing half the kernels each time in the compost bin.

Any advice?

could you be putting too much in regardless of what the directions say? it seems to me when I've had a child overfill ours some we end up with more unpopped kernels.. so maybe reducing the amount you put in?

Also could the popcorn be old before you get it? old popcorn has the water that's encased in the kernel reduced or totally gone and it won't pop that way.

The air popper we have tends to fling kernels out as it pops. I scoop them up (hot!!) with a spoon, and get them back in quickly, so they have more time to pop. There is much less waste, though it is a bit labor-intensive.
