Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm contemplating setting up a blog -- maybe just a private one -- as sort of a control journal along the lines of flylady. I've thought of making a home management binder, but... in my house, I think one more object would just become another piece of clutter. So I was thinking that I might be able to keep a lot of the lists in blog format, since I probably can't lose the Internet.

Does this sound feasible? If you were going to use an online format to keep track of your household tasks, what sorts of lists would you keep there? How would you set it up for best ease of use?

I think that Willa keeps a blog sort of like the one I am envisioning... does anybody else?

I have an ongoing ambivalent relationship to my blog but I've just jumped back into it in the last week. I changed the title to Aspiring Homemaker (It was "To Order All Things"). I've blogged this week just to encourage myself, but I'm sort of thinking of doing something along the lines of what you are describing. So--no advice, I guess, but it doesn't sound like a crazy idea to me. I'm interested to see who else has blogs like these so I can get some good ideas myself.

Susan

I have contemplated such a blog but was concerned that I'd spend even more time on the computer - something I struggle with now.

That being said, I'd love to hear about what you come up with...

I find it useful in order to keep a record of what I do in a place where I know I can find it again . And as you say, because then it's not just one more huge thing sitting on my counter.

I'm curious to hear if there are others doing that, too.   I actually found your thread by looking at the statcounter on my blog -- I couldn't figure out why it suddenly bumped to a day total of 80. Usually I think only my sister-in-law and maybe my daughter keeps up with it

I am tracking my de-cluttering efforts on my blog and I have several menu planning and laundry posts written and am working on more homemaking articles.

I am one of those people who has really struggled to learn good homemaking techniques and I have a strong tendency to be a "messy" so for me the blog has been a real help. A few years ago I would take pictures of my "lucky room of the day" in the morning, post them and then click a few shots at 4pm and post those. I can not tell you how much the accountability of knowing that I was going to be posting those second pictures in the day helped me stay on task in my organization efforts.

When I move the blog to its new home I will start doing that again and hope to set up an area where other people can post their own pictures and goals.

I wish I would have seen this before the apx. and at least 20 bags of garbage we've thrown out or bags of items donated (probably 8-10) since beginning our decluttering here a few weeks back. It's FUN to feel FREE!!!

Thanks Willa, I enjoy your blogs as well.

One of my good friends has kindly offered to let me bring a bag to her house for filling if I run out of stuff to get rid of here.      Isn't she nice?
