Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My name is Elizabeth and I'll be heading up a second group of Jesse Tree swappers for anyone interested in joining. In order to make this work out for everyone involved there is a deadline to get all 28 people signed up no later than Wednesday November 14 at 12pm. Everyone must consider the time it will take to buy the supplies and then make 28 of the same kind of ornament. Also consider how busy you will be with Thanksgiving coming up. Lorri, the mastermind behind all of this said in the first swapping thread that it took her a total of 3 hours to complete working 1 hr each night. If you are still interested after reading her instructions which I pasted below, please PM me or email me at fernfam@gmail.com with your choices.

If you receive "Faith and Family" magazine, they have an article about doing a Jesse Tree craft swap. The basic idea is that 28 families commit to making 28 copies of a single Jesse Tree ornament. The families then exchange ornaments and each family has a complete set. The ornaments are reusable for years to come.

The basics are:

1. Each person will make 28 copies of the same ornament.

2. The ornaments should be small, about 1-3 inches

3. Be creative - a small rubber bouncy-ball Earth with a hook in top is perfectly ok, and so is handmaking your whole ornament.

4. Do not start making your ornament until I make an announcement that we have filled the swap.

5. Completed ornaments need to be mailed to me by the end of November, along with return postage, so that I can mail them out before Advent. They need to be at my address by November 28th to be mailed November 29th. The ornaments will probably not be at your by the first Sunday of Advent. Please keep that in mind when deciding to participate.

I will give out additional information once I have 28 participants. But feel free to ask any questions you might have and I'll answer right away.
One more thing - if you want to make more than one Jesse Tree to give one as a gift, you can sign up to make 2 different ornaments. You will need to make 28 of each ornament that you are assigned.

The ornaments are:

earth
apple and snake
Mary
ark and rainbow
camel and tent
lamb
colorful coat
doorway with blood
tablet with 10 numbers
cluster of grapes
stick with bronze serpent
whale
sheath of wheat
slingshot
scroll
stump with leaf
lion and lamb together
dove and crown
sheperd's staff
cross
heart with writing
Bethlehem
fiery furnace
brick wall
star
candle or light
angel
baby in manger or nativity scene

God Bless,

Elizabeth

God Bless,

Dear Ladies,

We were not able to get enough ladies involved for the 2nd group of swappers. It is too near to Thanksgiving for many to participate. I don't think extending the deadline would do any good because that would just put us in a time crunch. If anybody has any suggestions let me know. I, for one would like to see what the 1st group of swappers come up with, perhaps with instructions on how to make their ornaments for those who want to have a swap for next year. In all, we had 10 women willing to do 14 ornaments. Thank You Everyone!

God Bless You All,

Elizabeth
