Right now my kids will eat salad, but they eat it totally dry! I know that there is nothing wrong with that in fact it is probably healthier, but I have one daughter who doesn't really like her veggies. I think they might be more appealing to her if I could find a dip or dressing that she liked.
We have tried Ranch, Raspberry Vin., & Thousand Island.
What is most popular in your house? Do your kids have a favorite?

My son reports he likes italian, red wine vinaigrette, poppyseed and ranch. He also likes homemade oil and vinegar made with Vincotto.

dd5 likes ranch. ds9 does not like any food to mix or touch and doesn't even like to sit next to salad dressing if he can help it --he eats it dry if anything. dd18 will only eat caesar dressing.

Our ds does not even want to be near salad! He has a great sensitivity to it (amoung other things).
Our dd loves salad especially with ranch dressing, but in a pinch, she will substitute Caesar (this is what she orders when we go out).

I love this forum!!!
I never would have thought of poppy seed or raspberry walnut! When I was a kid, it was ranch or thousand island, that's it.
Thanks ladies!

Honey Mustard -- Ken's version. We like the squeeze bottle if it's available. One of my sons will eat salad dry -- the rest need dressing to eat it.

Ours like ranch or our homemade honey mustard. I remember liking Catalina as a child.

ranch. Homemade orange poppyseed. I also loved Catalina and Thousand Island as a kid.
Taste of Home has some recipes (I assume they are online since I got them from their magazine ). The strawberry one was also good...
Quote:
Strawberry Salad Dressing
INGREDIENTS
1 package (20 ounces) frozen unsweetened strawberries, thawed
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons canola oil
1 teaspoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Torn mixed salad greens and sliced onion
DIRECTIONS
In a blender or food processor, combine the first nine ingredients. Cover and process until smooth. Serve over greens and onion. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 3 cups.

Ranch, Italian, or Creamy Italian for my little guy. I mostly keep Ranch in the house, but if we go to a restaurant, he will try their Italian.

Dorothy Lynch.
I don't know if it is a regional specialty, but it's all DH and the kids will take on their salads.
It's kind of like Catalina, but not quite so sweet.
