Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am getting ready to place an order for some polar fleece on sale. I want to make some simple winter pants for the kiddos size 2T, 4T and 6. I don't have a pattern, but am planning on taking apart an old pair of sweats and using them as a pattern, so... I am wondering, about how much fabric would it take to make a pair of sweat pants? Could I get a pair per yard?

I usually go by the length from the waistband to the hem in sizes that small. Since fleece is almost always 60" wide, one length is enough. We used fleece pants as snow pants one year, and they worked great. Very warm. Good luck!

Just wanted to link a great tutorial for making kids pants without a pattern. It's very easy, and I've had great results making pajama pants for both my toddlers. I actually have some fleece sitting by my sewing machine right now to make some winter play pants for them!

great patterns for basic children's clothing

Theresa, the link above is to the Kwik Sew Sewing for Children's Book. It is a bit pricy but has several multi-sized basic kids clothing patterns to use over and over. The patterns fit well and sew up very quickly.
