Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For the past couple of weeks, I have been feeling dizziness come and go -- which I suspect is from fluid in my ears (have had cold symptoms) perhaps exacerbated by lack of sleep. I am definitely NOT a home-remedy guru, so I need suggestions on how to help besides naps and pumping water and OJ????

sucking a hard sour candy can sometimes help clear the ears

I also really like a hot lemonade (use real lemon juice.. but it doesn't have to be fresh) and sugar is my preference.. but if you like it or have a sore throat honey is better. (the lemon oils will actually soothe a sore throat too)

heat can also help the ears.. a heating pad (don't get it too hot) or a rice sock

an otc decongestant might be helpful

also you can get an earache oil.. usually has garlic as well as other things in it.. if your ears are starting to hurt.. it can be used preventatively if you think it might be going toward an ear infection.. in a pinch you can heat real garlic in olive oil until the garlic is brown but not burnt.. strain out the garlic and let the oil cool to skin temperature and use that.. keep it refrigerated.. but heat it up (put it's container in hot water) before using in the ears.

Maryan,

When I am sleep deprived and under stress, I have bad dizzy spells... mostly when I am horizontal
Sleep is my only remedy...and a dose of Natural Calm helps
Hope this passes soon. Sorry I had no other advice.

Thanks Tammy and Jodie! I'm going to try to the hot lemonade, heating pad and sleep. If these don't work, then I'll try your other recommendations!
