Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For those of us suburbanites and city dwellers who do not have the benefit of well water - what method of filtration (if any) do you use? I do not like my Brita - but cannot find an alternative.

We use a Pur Side Tap. It seems to work well.

We purify our water using ultraviolet light, charcoal and sediment filters, then oxygenate it using O3. I wrote about it here awhile back when we were under a boil water order. It looks similar to this one but I can't find exactly the brand we have under the sink right now. We chose this style over a watermaker as we aren't circumnavigating this year and you have to run a watermaker consistantly or rings and things dry out and cause a mess.
(Watermakers turn salt to fresh water, our filter just filters fresh water and so is applicable to your house hold, Marilyn.)

Thanks everyone. I just ordered a PUR pitcher and filter from Amazon (half price!) - I would have loved to go with the Nikken Pi-Mag dispenser - but aside from the price, the whole cleaning out thing was more work than I need right now.
