I have this idea that if we each had our own color water glass, I'd have fewer dishes to wash, since each person could continue to use the same glass all day. I'm looking for tall glass tumblers. I do not like the way plastic feels or tastes in my mouth. Something like these but with better reviews (too many people say the color comes off).
I've looked at what Amazon has to offer and not found anything, anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

I did something like this a few years ago with water bottles. Everyone got their own water bottle and they used it through out the day. I love when I was consistent with that!
We got the Kleen Kanteens at the time.
But, I have since upgraded to a glass water bottle like this!
ETA: This worked for use because we pretty much only drink water. If you were mixing between drinks this could be an issue.

Love those water bottles Betsy! I think they will make nice stocking stuffers! We did the same color glass thing a couple of years ago and it really worked well. We've fallen off the wagon with it and I'm back to washing way too many glasses and cups each day!

Glass canning jars make nice drinking glasses. Personally I find the 12 oz quilted jelly jars easier for smaller hands because they're narrower and the texture of the glass offers a bit of grip. I noticed this summer that many stores were carrying crafty supplies for personalizing canning jars, right next to the canning jar display. Might be a fun Advent/Christmas project! You can also just use a Sharpie or dry erase marker to write everyone's name on their jar/glass, or to add each family members' unique color to the jar. There are several types of handy lids or sippers available for canning jars like this straw version, various styles by Cuppow and these by ReCap. I saw the daisy cutout version in local stores and those seem most economical. It's a pretty simple task to just drill a hole in the lids yourself. You might also personalize with colored reusable straws.

If you've got glass glasses.. you can use a sharpie marker and write a name on them.. and it'll stay on pretty much all day.. but you can wash it off with a bit of scrubbing.

Glass paint markers like these would do well.
I come from a large family, and we used to get Texan brand cups (like these but now that brand is gone) and write our names and decorate them with the enamel/acrylic paint pens. Withstood dishwasher.
This was great when we visited our grandmother with over 20 grandchildren she had cups for all, but not wasting all sorts of disposable cups.

We do this and I love it! All the kids have a Kleen Kanteen that they keep water in.
But, the older girls are starting to want water w/ice now that we have an ice machine. (gee....I wonder where they got that from ).
So, dad, mom and older girls each have a glass for ice water that sits next to the fridge.
It DEF. cuts down on dishes, so worth your time and effort to find glasses that work for you!

Our glasses have a ridge along the bottom, so we put a different color rubber band around the bottom for each person. They come off easily for washing, and are so inexpensive to get a big bag full of colors. I would think this would work on glasses with no ridge as well, as long as the rubber band has a tight grip.

The last time I was at TJ Maxx, I saw some colored glasses. They had juice size and a sort of mid-sized glass. Not sure if they would also have a problem with the color coming off as did the glasses in the link.
