Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My blood pressure took a big leap since my last check up 3 months age. I believe it is all stress and weight gain.
What are some natural ways to bring it down? I really don't want to add blood pressure meds to my already long list of meds
What are your suggestions? I don't see the stress ending any time soon.

Good vitamins.

a good B-complex will help your body deal with stress and vitamin C helps (I'd have to look up how)

and check out Jenn's post on lowering cholesterol There's some info there that may pertain.. in particular how soy (like oils) can effect the body.

My dh's blood pressure was high.. he was even on a low dose of meds for it for a while.. and then it came down enough he stopped the meds.. but it kept coming down into normal range.. after reading one of those articles.. it occured to me that while it didn't start the "coming down" process.. that my BIL being allergic to soy meant we switched a lot of things to canola oil (we got together often enough it was easier to switch all the time than changing when we'd get together).. but anyway.. I'm thinking that it was about the same time that my BIL's allergy was discovered and my DH's bp really normalized.

I recently read the first couple of chapters of the book "Wheat Belly". Very interesting... Going gluten free naturally lowered one of the patient's blood pressure without taking any special medicine. See if you can find the book in the library. The different cases are really interesting. Maybe it is something for you?

DASH diet....look it up....I started back in May, have lost 23 pounds...and my BP started to go down so quickly that I had to have my doc lower my BP meds TWICE in two weeks...I was up to the highest dose, I am now down to the lowest dose, from 320mg to 80mg!! And I agree, getting rid of wheat is a big help, just lowering your salt and carbs is a very, very big deal. My BP started going down without exercise even, just with the diet. It was a simple plan, I am sure you can check out of the library some DASH diet recipes, etc. It is basically a lower carb, higher protein diet...nothing fancy or strange. I like Marla Heller’s book the best, The DASH Diet Weight Loss Solution

I never, ever thought I would get back down to what I weighed when I was married. It works!!!

My husband uses a natural herbal blood pressure med called Pressasure. He gets them here

No side effects for him and he's been on them for about 4 years now and they work!!

My husband's blood pressure went down when he started exercising daily and when he gave up soda. ( He drank a lot of soda every day.) Refined sugars, especially high fructose corn syrup, apparently affect your cholesterol numbers and blood pressure.
