Hi all,

My MIL is of a practical nature...physicist to be exact, and I was trying to think of a Christmas present for her..one is the spider lily, which she recently enjoyed at Williamsburg, that I can't seem to find bulbs for anywhere, but I also noticed that she often wears tape on her fingernail because they have ripped below the "quik" or whatever that is called...i.e..down lower on the nail. is there something that will help relieve this condition that I could give her in gift with other things? she already started taking biotin for it, but she had the tape on again the other day...maybe liquid band-aid, but that isn't very glamorous!!!

superglue will hold together a nail that's splitting so that it won't cut down into where it's attached. I have a flaw in one nail that the nail will split if it gets too long.. so if I want to grow my nails out long for a special occation.. I use superglue on that one to keep it from being able to split at the spot. And it's much less noticable than tape or such.

And there are polishes for strengthening nails but I don't know how well those work.
