Hi - I recently had a baby and was wondering if anyone could suggest an exercise video where the instructor is dressed in at least a tank top and shorts or yoga pants. I have tried different shows on Netflix but it seems most of them are wearing sports bra type things and it kinda annoys me and it bothers my son as well. I would like a show that my kids can even do with me if they want. I would also like it to be somewhat recent - I have an old Jane Fonda video from the 80's and the kids come up and ask why she is wearing a swimsuit Thanks for any suggestions.

No specific video suggestions, but I sometimes look up exercise routines on YouTube--instructors often post videos from their classes there for other instructors to learn from/copy. I have used quite a few step class videos, just looping them onto a playlist to create an hour-long workout or whatever. I totally share your annoyance with the modesty problem, so this has been a good (free!) work-around for me.

We really like the Wii Fit.. and it's a drawn character not a real person.. and while the girl has a short top.. you can use the guy character instead.

The only exercise video I have ever been able to do consistently is Walk and Firm with Leslie Sansone. She has other great walking videos, too.
I started up with these again over Lent (part of my walk 40 miles in 40 days plan--thanks, SeaStar...I think!) I used them on days when I couldn't walk outside. I had first really used these a lot when I was pregnant with my last son and felt GREAT when he was born, but since then have basically just been gaining weight and getting more out of shape all the time. These videos are great for beginners, but people in better shape can get a great workout from them, too.
The music is a simple rhythm for walking, which I liked since there was a baby listening! No weird words, syncopated beats, or other objectionable material. Just a musical beat to keep you walking at the right speed.

Great! Thanks for the suggestions!! I will look into all of those - that Wii thing sounds pretty fun - we don't own a Wii but maybe I can see it when I am over my brother's house . I will look into the Walk and Fit. About Youtube - how do you loop things onto a playlist?? There are so many things about the computer that I have no clue about!

If you have an account (free), you can add videos to various playlists that you set up--you'll see a link under the video for "add to playlist," and then there's a drop-down menu for you to choose which one you'd like to add it to. Then, when I go into my settings and view my playlists, I can opt to play the whole list, and the videos will play one after the other. Hope that helps!

Jenifleur, I just realized I didn't address an important part of your question...the modesty issue. Leslie Sansone wears long leggings and a tank top that is sleeveless but not revealing. The exercise "class" in the background is overall pretty modest in the video I have, although there is one lady in a cropped top. HTH!

it's old but "sweatin' to the oldies" is sorta fun and fairly modest

Thanks - "Sweatin'" seems more my speed then the kinda pretentious shows on Netflix. I will look into that too. I actually wandered into the exercise section of the Target around me and came across this video
It is pretty basic but just includes the exerciser - a 7 time olympic medal gymnast who just had a baby with a personal trainer in a home setting (probably a model house, LOL!). It has pre and post pregnancy workouts. They wear tank tops, shorts and yoga pants. In general pretty tasteful. I love how the Olympic gymnast is probably as short if not shorter than me! Very geared at new moms even with little new mom jokes. Thanks for all you help. If anyone has any more suggestions I would love to hear them!

Sorry - meant to say the video - Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss(I can type better now that I am no longer holding my bab ) has Pregnancy and Post Partum workouts (not pre pregnancy). The link in my above message works. The link in the longer one above that does not.

T-Tapp is what I use. Theresa Tapp is covered (and depending on the video, I recall most are pretty modest) with the only issue of concern being a lack of padding at the breast .
Love,

I looked at T-Tapp on Amazon and didn't want to commit to the price of the video but I have taken Celeste's advice about going to YouTube and making a playlist. I have one video so far - so we will see how it goes. Thanks!
