Hi There,

I am almost 11 weeks pregnant with my 5th baby. We have been waiting and praying for this little one for years, actually since I miscarried our last one in 2006.

I showed immediately with this pregnancy and alot! In fact, based on how much my heart rate increased and my respiratory rate, and how big I was, I was pretty sure I was having twins again. But I have yet to see an OB. The doctors here won't even see you till you are 12 weeks along. No ultrasound till 16 weeks. I've never had to wait this long for any information about a pregnancy, in fact, I've always had a spot ultrasound on my first visit to confirm the pregnancy.

It's been very hard for me, a former nurse, and turning 40 in a few weeks to just be at rest despite the lack of information. But I know the Lord is in control, there's nothing the doctors could really do for me at this stage anyways.

This week, I noticed a big change in moods for me. I was more down than usual. I was also a little achy just above my bladder though it's not a UTI. No pain, just a dull ache sometimes. I wasn't sure if that was stretching pain? Then two days ago, I noticed a BIG change in the size of my belly. My belly is still firm but it is smaller than it was on Sunday. I don't know what this means. I've never had that happen before. Could I just be carrying differently? Could it be that I was carrying alot of water and lost it? Could it be that I lost a twin? I've had no other symptoms. No bleeding or anything. I continue to use progesterone cream just in case I get low due to my age.

Any insight? I've prayed to the Lord to give me some assurance that everything is alright and I'm still pregnant. But I know He is good and His is God, even if I lose this one too.

sounds like maybe your insides just shifted so that you don't appear as big and that could cause the achy stretchy sensations with the other organs and stuff being shifted around.

I also show fairly quickly and measure large early on.. that's partly just body memory.. and may or may not mean anything..

I got bigger faster with each pregnancy. If you have had a previous miscarriage, you would think they would let you get an U/S faster. Maybe you could look into changing doctors. My dr always does his first U/S by 10 weeks. The pain you are feeling sounds a lot like stretching to me. However, if you are concerned at all about an ectopic, I would call your dr. I can't believe you have to wait that long. Good luck!

I'd definitely go to another doctor for a visit with ultrasound. Even if you have to drive an Hour or so it would be worth the peace of mind. Just call doctors in a large city next to you, tell them your situation and I'm sure someone will have some compassion and let you come in.
