... that's my curious question. How many of you continue to receive the Blood of Christ while pregnant? You can answer as vaguely as you'd like (with simply a yes or no) or perhaps explain why (whatever your choice may be).

Yes, usually. My doctors have explained the warning against drinking is large amounts. He has said it's fine to have a small glass of wine or beer while pregnant -- it will not harm the baby. Just use prudence.
I don't usually take him up on the offer, part of my reason for not is my gestational diabetes and that the alcohol really goes to my head immediately, more than non-pregnant. So maybe a sip from dh's glass but that's all.

yes.. tiny sip.. once a week.. I can't see there's enough alcohol in the (please forgive me, my vocabulary vanishes when I'm tired.. what is it we call the wine that is still there when changed to the Body and Blood.. an accidental?) tiny sip to be any sort of problem.
Then on the purely practical side.. when I'm pregnant my tummy isn't always happy with me and it helps.. again through the accidental (?) of being wine and therefore tart, and tartness almost always helps me.

Now there were times.. probably when I was more self conscious being a new Catholic.. when I felt that it "looked bad" for me to recieve the Blood when obviously pregnant. As I became more comfortable and less self-conscious, appearances became less important.
Also I'm not inclined to catch every cold going around so even pregnant I don't even consider the immune response a problem.. and from all I've read, you're less likely to catch something from the cup than from the people sitting around you coughing anyway.

Yes, the accidents remain, so the effects would still be there.

Me too. I received every week when I was pregnant.

Still received - such a tiny amount as to not be an issue.

I didn't, but I never receive the Holy Blood. I have a suppressed immune system and it's just not worth the risk to me. I do receive the bread, but wait until I am one of the last people so as to have less chance of catching something.

Typically, yes. But at times the fragrance of the wine is more than I can handle, so if I'm feeling queasy, then I don't. But I am not at all concerned about the miniscule amount of alcohol.
Peace,
Nancy

Yes. Negligible amount of alcohol in such a tiny sip.

I have to say, that I'm a bit relieved that I share the same thoughts as so many of you. I'm about 11 weeks along now and have received each week. I was never concerned about it, though yesterday at Mass it occured to me that others might think I was being irresponsible. So then it got me thinking ...
Thanks ladies

I receive for the same reasons as Jenn. I don't think that anyone would think you were irresponsible for receiving at Mass.
And congratulations!
