Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Sigh. Any natural remedies? I'm going to call my doctor today, but I went through this with my last nursling so I'm mostly sure it's thrush.

Tea tree oil, lavender oil

I would wipe off with TTO after nursing and then take a blow drier to my For the baby, I would dip my finger in a good pro biotic and have the baby suck it off my finger. I would rinse my nursing pads in a lavender oil.

Gentian violet is not a "natural remedy" but it does work if the infection is really bad.

Thanks LeeAnn.
Would you dilute the TTO, or use it straight?
Is gentian violet for mom or baby? He doesn't seem to have it, which is odd.

I did the TTO straight on a Q-tip. The gentian violet is for mom. Paint it on right after you nurse and wipe off before you nurse. It STAINS, so if you use it, get disposable nursing pads.

90% of the time TTO took care of thrush within 48 hours. Then I would continue with a TTO soap, Trader Joe's has a nice one, as long as I was nursing. I am prone to thrush and if I skipped the TTO soap it would flair up again.

Don't forget to take a good probiotic yourself so that as you kill off the thrush you have the good bacteria taking over and not leaving space for the yeast overgrowth again.
