Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any words of wisdom for helping a dh whose job keeps him from any type of routine? Think: lots of travel (car/plane), many meetings, business lunches/dinners, 24/7 on call, etc.

I was tooling around online about this topic and just ordered The Wall Street Diet on CD - hoping he can listen to it - because he doesn't even have time to read anything outside of his professional and spiritual reading.

I know this type of topic has been discussed before and perhaps those with better memories than mine can link.

It's just so hard to watch my dh take care of so many...and not be able to take similar care of himself.

Thanks!

Love,

the only thing I can think of off hand.. parking further away to walk a bit.. walking up or down stairs instead of elevators.. things like that.. just sneaking a bit in here and there.

oh and hotels sometimes have workout rooms that he might be able to use.. or a swimming pool.. I find a bit of swimming to help more with the stiffness of lots of travel than sitting in a hot tub.

Everything Jodie said. My dh is tall so he doesn't swim in tiny hotel pools (not worth the trouble!). Instead he does basic calisthenics on his hotel room floor (using a towel...sometimes he packs a yoga mat...watch for icky bugs!).

My husband also packs lots of fruit for snacking during the day and sticks to fruit and yogurt (maybe with a few unsalted almonds) at breakfast.

He loves hotels with ellipticals...his favorite...but he'll cycle or use a treadmill, too.
