Anyone use it? Has it helped? I've heard some brands are better than others, can anyone recommend one they've heard is good?
I know all the standard disclaimers - you're not doctors (ha, maybe some of you are)

I think it really helped me hang on to this pregnancy. I use Life-Flo brand twice/day. I ran out about the time I had dental surgery done, and was out for two weeks. I was 25-27 weeks pg around then and thought I'd be fine w/o out - I woke up bleeding at 27 weeks.  Dh ran out and got some and that was the last we saw of any bleeding.

it's supposed to raise your progesterone levels.. that's what helps you sustain a pregnancy or if not pregnant it's what determines the length of your luteal phase (the time from ovulation until the start of your next cycle).
If you really need the progesterone, it is usually recommended that you go with the sublingual RX. The creams haven't been proven to significantly raise the blood levels of progesterone. That doesn't mean that they won't help.. but that they may not have enough of an increase to help everyone who needs it.. or just that they haven't been proven to cause an increase.

I have used it to help with perimenopause symptoms and I have not noticed any help. I have tried the cheap-o brands and the best brands and for a good amount of time. (6 months or so) I finally stopped because I saw no difference and it was expensive. I have used injectable progesterone for helping hang onto a pregnancy.

I used a wild yam cream that helps even out hormones naturally when I was carrying my twins and boy did it help a bunch! I'm sure you can find some at the health food store, the company I bought mine from no longer carries it  .

Sometimes, for perimenopause symptoms, over the counter isn't strong enough. I needed prescription strength cream to improve my symptoms. But be careful with that as well as now they tell me it has built up in my tissues. I now take a capsule at a much lower dosage (still natural progesterone, no tissue build up).
