Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know what I can give my dd to boost her ability to fight infection right now. She got 4 stitches in her hand yesterday, and I would like to boost her ability to fight off an infection in the wound. We're using topicals right now, but I didn't know if there was any more we could do to boost her chances.   This is the first of my children to require stitches, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Tea Tree Oil is a natural topical substance that you could use.

My husband and I drink a cold/flu tea that has echinacea and elderberry extract, but I'm not sure of the amounts or if it's safe for children.

echinacea and elderberry both come in extracts made for children.. elderberry especially I find to be fairly safe simply because it is a food you might eat without it being medicinal.

Garlic is a simple to use antibacterial.. add it into soups or sauces serve fresh garlic on garlic bread etc.

Ginger is a very good antiviral and antifungal...

I like making a pineapple (helps speed healing and reduce swelling in soft tissue injuries) smoothie and grate a bit of fresh ginger into that.. fresh ginger isn't as sharp/hot as dried is.

Ginger is easy to keep for use.. buy some of the root at grocery store from the fruits and veggies area.. scrub it clean.. put it into a little ziplock bag and freeze it. Then whenever you need some.. you just take it out and grate it frozen.

We really push the Vit C (we like Emergen-C) both as a treatment and a preventative (like if you feel a cold coming on or are going on an airplane, etc...) for any sort of infection.
