Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

During the last few pregnancies I feel just awful after I wake up from a nap. I don't even know if I can describe it very well what I feel. I feel kinda nauseous, and kinda like I feel nauseous throughout my whole body, and kinda like I got electrical currents throughout my body, my head feels awful, I feel stuffed up, and I feel shaky. I guess I kinda feel like I have a flu/cold, but worse. It doesn't happen all day. It usually starts after I take a nap. I try to skip naps when I can, but somedays I feel so tired/lousy that it's worth feeling this way afterwards just to get a nap in.

I've tried to see if it's blood sugar related by eating before and/or after my nap. It usually doesn't help(although it did seem to last the last 2 pregnancies). It lasts for 2 hours usually even after eating. I just don't know what this is. I usually wane by the evening anyways this preg., but this is different.

Anyone know what this is, what to do about it, etc.? Thank you!

do you lay differently when napping than during the night? Like in a recliner vs on the bed? or on a couch?

things off the top of my head.. sinus drainage can make you feel icky, position could be restricting blood flow..

things like that?

No I usually sleep in bed in the same positions I sleep in at daytime. Once in a while I nap in the recliner but that's only a very short nap, and I feel the same regardless of where I sleep.

You're right on the sinus drainage, I've had my level of nausea affected by it for sure this pregnancy!

I have been affected by blood flow restriction problems when kneeling for family prayer times this time, I have to sit while the family kneels. It may be blood flow restrictions while sleeping...I do feel a little sick in the morning when first waking up, but I always attribute it to morning sickness issues. I definitely feel worse after naps though, there's something about the afternoon or evening if I fall asleep that's different, I wake up feeling sick.
